What is Morrow County 911?

Morrow County Firefighters and Squadsmens Association was formed in 1971 and became the governing body of Morrow County EMS and Morrow County Fire Control (Morrow County 911).

Morrow County Fire Control has the sole responsibility of receiving all emergency phone calls and dispatching of fire department and emergency squads to your emergencies.

In January of 1994 Morrow County began a county wide 911 phone service for all emergencies. This included Police, Sheriff, Fire and EMS. The communications center is located at 47 East Center in Mount Gilead. This communications center handles all emergency 911 calls and all non emergency calls for the fire departments and Morrow County EMS. Hence the change from Morrow County fire control to Morrow County 911.

How is Morrow County 911 funded?

Morrow County 911 in funded in 2 ways.

The first one is a 911 easement tax.

This easement tax is $11.00 per year per parcel of land. Those funds can only be used for building rent and maintaining the 911 system.

The second way Morrow County 911 is funded is through the Morrow County EMS levy.

A portion of the levy is responsible for personnel to answer 911 phones and to dispatch emergency personnel. It is also used for radios for emergency responders and all other communications equipment, the funds that come from the levy split between Morrow County 911 and Morrow County EMS.
